Using a card break randomizer on a live stream (OBS and Streamlabs)
BreakSeal has a stream view that hides the page controls and shows a clean board, plus an overlay link you can use as a browser source. Test it in your streaming software before you go live.
Stream view (live control)
- Open your break and press Stream view. The page shows a full-screen board without the usual controls.
- Advance the reveal with a key or a tap. Press Esc to leave stream view.
- Choose the Stream view background first: Board color, Green screen or Blue screen.
Getting stream view into OBS or Streamlabs
- Add a Window Capture source and choose the browser window that has stream view open.
- If you picked a green or blue screen, add a Chroma Key filter to that source and choose the matching color.
- Crop or resize to fit your scene, and put a webcam beside it if you like.
The overlay link (browser source)
BreakSeal can also give you a stream overlay link. In OBS, add a Browser source and paste the link; widths around 1280 and heights around 400 work well. It replays the official result one reveal at a time, and it checks the result in the browser first, so a result that does not verify is never shown.
Careful: the overlay link contains the secret seed. Open it only when you are ready to show results, and do not post it in chat. OBS keeps its own storage, so the overlay cannot follow the page you are running live. For live control, use stream view and capture the window.
Before you go live
- Run a dry break with a few fake names and check the capture looks right.
- Check the background color against your scene.
- Have the verify link ready to paste into chat once you have revealed.
- Have the commitment posted before you start.
We test the page in current browsers. Streaming software varies, so run it once in yours before a paid break.
